Newsletter Oct 30, 2009: "Larry's Gigalert November"
Hi Everyone: three things of note:
#1: A Celebration of Life and Benefit Fundraiser
for a friend and great musician, Michael Whitwell,
this Sunday Nov. 1 4-10pm Graziano's (don't forget
to set your clock backward Sat.nite) Many bands and fine
music--I lead it off at 4pm sharp, with a full
complement: Gary Grubb guitar, John Lonacker bass,
Preston Bailey drums, and Steve DellaMaggiora keyboards.
EMAIL LindalLipps@comcast.net for flier.
Michael was lead horn at Harrah's Tahoe and Reno
and Bally's, playing with the likes of Sinatra and
Tony Bennett for 20 years. He settled in Petaluma,
Catherine, and played a wonderful flugelhorn for my
one jazz tune entitled "What Did You Have in Mind".
Come on out--bring an appetizer.
#2: New Record out by Nov. 6, "Close to Home" available
on CD Baby, Amazon.com, Itunes U.S., Europe, and Australia.
Available at Last Record Store Santa Rosa: $9.95 for 14
original songs. Send l3$ inc S&H to Full Range Music
101 Bassett Street Petaluma, Ca. 94952 allow 2-4 weeks.
We think these songs have some real "legs" in the world
of music. We'll see. co-written with George Merrill and
Scott O'Brien, produced and engineered by George Merrill
and Kevin Harris.
#3 I'm very honored to be chosen for the Premiere Showcase
at the FAR WEST FOLK ALLIANCE conference in Irvine on Nov. 6.
The conference runs for three days, and I'll be in other
showcases as well, pitching my tunes and performance to
venue operators, house concert managers, festival managers,
and radio DJ's.
All my best to you all--what a beautiful stretch of fall
weather we've had here in Northern California.
Larry
runs for three days, Nov. 6 and Nov. 8.
